Glycemic Index Food
Learning to choose and pick the right carbohydrate
food choice with low glycemic index is of utmost importance for successful
weight loss and weight maintenance in the southbeach diet plan.
All carbohydrate contains sugar and our body extract sugar from
carbohydrate at
different rates.
Carbohydrates that causes rapid increases in our
blood sugar level stimulate hunger cravings that causes overeating, weight
gain and obesity.
The southbeach diet plan focuses on eating properly
and eating the right southbeach diet
food that cause gradual increase and decrease in blood sugar level i.e. good
carbs with low glycemic index and good fats.
Only low glycemic index food is allow on southbeach
diet phase 1 as low glycemic food satisfy hunger longer and minimise food
cravings better. Choose the low glycemic food with better nutritional value
should they have the same glycemic index rating from the glycemic index list.
